Please bear in mind our peak times (typically 08.30 - 10.30) when we experience the highest volume of calls.
When you dial our number, you will be welcomed to Oaklands Health Centre and told that in the interest of all parties, calls may be recorded. This includes both calls in and out of the surgery. These recordings are kept on site and used for training purposes only.
This is a list of the options available to patients when they phone in:
Press 1 - To make an appointment
Press 2 - To request a home visit
Press 3 - Test results (after 10.30am)
Press 4 - General enqueries line (after 10.30am)
Press 5 - TO CANCEL AN APPOINTMENT
Press 8 - Repeat prescription information
Press 9 - Flu clinic information
IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY PLEASE HANG UP AND RE-DIAL 999 FOR AN AMBULANCE
You can interrupt the message at any time by pressing the number you require and the cancellation line is available 24/7. The maximum number of people we hold on a queuing system is 15 so if there are more than this number trying to get through you may hear an engage tone.
If for any reason you have difficulty getting through to the surgery, you can call NHS 111 which is available 24 hours a day. NHS 111 provide medical advice and there is no charge for any calls.
For any medical emergency please phone 999 direct. There is no need to contact the surgery or NHS 111 first.
